You treat them based on the value of their PLAY. Ask Montreal how “trusting” Scott Gomez is working out for them. Ask the Islanders about “trusting” RDP. Just because he makes a lot of money and has an NTC doesn’t mean you shouldn’t bench him if he’s being outperformed. Playing a high-value signee in spite of weak performance is literally giving him no incentive whatsoever to figure his shit out. It’s just rewarding him for being overpaid.

Hes the main reason the Flyers continue to play well no matter who they have on their team.

However, this seems like a bad move. Bryzgalov is suppose to be the top guy in Philly, and while Bobrovsky is playing a little better right now, hes not going to be the face of the Flyers for the years to come. If Bryzgalov is being told he can’t be trusted in the big games, whats that going to do to his confidence and his desire to play for the Flyers in the futre? I think Laviolette should have stuck with his top guy in the big game so as to not cause a rift.
