Nice to see Bergeron finally getting some credit and recognition for the player he is. He has been a fantastic Bruin ever since he was drafted 8 years ago and a true fan favorite. He is one of the reasons for the Bruins success over the past years and its nice to finally see people taking notice of him. He isn't gonna score 30+ goals but he will do the little things and the dirty work that go unnoticed on the stat sheet.

His point production isn't the same, but I'd say that arguably he's BETTER now- his two-way play is phenomenal, one of the five best defensive forwards in the NHL today. The Bruins have plenty of goal scoring as it is, but a guy like this? That's hard to come by. Boston is very lucky to have Bergeron in their lineup.

It's weird that before the Jones hit and concussion, he scored 31 goals in his second season as a teenager in Boston. His production really hasn't been the same since. But he is a great all around player and there is no doubt that his line with Marchand and Seguin is one of the best lines in the league right now. The +/- of the Bergeron line is off the charts.

"under-rated"? More like ignored. Recall that this performance is after a devastating bout with post concussion syndrome that interrupted his play for the better part of two full seasons.

Not only is he a stellar player he's clearly devoted to the sport. During the lockout he played in the AHL to keep his skills sharp and helped the Providence Bruins to their Eastern Conference Final against the Phantoms. That is one of the best playoff series I have ever seen, second only to the Boston/Vancouver series last season. Awesome battle for both teams. The Phantoms took the Calder Cup that year after beating the B's in 6. There are a lot of AHL grads from those teams in the NHL now.

See if you can find a clip of him being asked about the Bruin's goal he scored against Carey Price in Montreal's first game against the Bruins this season. It's worth the search.
