If Ovechkin picked up to even two-thirds his old scoring pace, they’d be in a better way on the attack and other guys (Backstrom especially) would start seeing a lot more results from their commendable efforts. And if Mike Green came back, their D would look less… well, like they have nothing resembling a #1 D.

They’d still be shit outta luck as far as goaltending goes, so they’d still not look great, but they’d look a lot BETTER, at least.
