I love Burke. He’s fantastic, and I want him here for the long haul. I like Wilson’s attitude, but I’m really not sure about him as a coach given his total lack of results in Toronto so far. Last year should’ve been better than it was, it really should’ve, and though no small part of that is on players underperforming… well, it’s on him too. I wasn’t necessarily calling for his sacking, but I’m disappointed Burkie didn’t just wait the season out. It’s not like he couldn’t have extended him AFTER he had proven himself by getting the Leafs back in the playoffs. He didn’t have to do it now, and I’m worried that might bite him. And the Leafs as a whole.

If it works, fantastic. I love Wilson’s bitch-slaps to the Toronto media. But I love Leafs wins more, and if he’s not the best man for the job… well, it’s too late to back out now, isn’t it?

The Toronto media is brutal. The only reason they don’t like Burke and Wilson is because they have no influence over them. They’re the first duo that doesn’t make knee-jerk reactions based on what idiots like Damien Cox and this guy from The Sun think. Glad to see Burkie and Wilson will be here giving the media fits for years to come.
