So in Cunneyworth’s debut against the Devils he gives Eller the 2nd most ice times for forwards at 18:25 and the most ice time for Eller by far all year. Three games later he benches him. What kind of message is that sending a young player? Scapegoating a young player just because he is young.

This guy doesn’t deserve to be the head coach of the Canadians and it doesn’t have anything to do with what language he speaks.

If history is to be believed, there haven’t been very many truly BAD years for Montreal, ever. This might be one of those times or it might be a case where one piece is missing and the team is verging on one of their storied comebacks.

In the meantime I’ll enjoy the schadenfreude…

I enjoy when Montreal is good….it’s better for hockey in general.

Are the players reallly tanking it because their coach can’t speak French?
Or… is there SO little leadership on that team that knowbody really knows or cares?
Or… are they just THAT bad?

One… or more… of those statements are very sadly true and painful to watch.

Does anyone in the Habs locker room recall this?
“To you from failing hands we throw the torch. Be yours to hold it high.”

Nobody appears to believe it, nor has anybody even remotely ‘picked up the torch’.
