The worry on Ron Mcleans face when Don starts to speak says it all. Don Cherry is going to say something that pisses everyone off, then CBC and hockey might get gutted. TSN and Sportsnet are already taking over. They have all the best analysts and truly make CBC’s cast of idiots look like they learnt hockey in remedial PE class.

Can you go back in time 15 years? Cherry’s been a senile mess for at least that long. How he’s still on t.v is beyond me. He’s a hypocritical, moronic, know nothing old man. One week he’s telling kids not to block shots cause one deflected into the net, the next week hes jizzing in his pants over some one blocking a shot and telling kids that’s the way to play the game. One week hes babbling on and on about how dirty the game is and how concussions are ruining the game the next week he’s releasing his annual video full of concussion providing hits that has made him millions.

Raffi is a lot more than a children’s entertainer…he’s a very thoughtful, well-read guy who has used his success to become an advocate for children, sort of a latter-day/Canadian Mr. Rogers. So I’d think his opinion carries some weight.

Cherry has always been inflammatory, and it annoys people and I’ve always sided him for that reason. However in his age he’s starting to get more boisterous and I’m worried he’s going to say something truly offensive and wrong… I’d like to see him finish as that loud old rambly guy, not the senile mess who had to get escorted out.

I’ve been trying to ‘mute’ Cherry in my head for years, barring ignoring him altogether. He’s a person who ‘might’ have known hockey in the 60′s but he doesn’t come close to knowing hockey today.
