Sharks defenseman Boyle was playing with broken foot

To all those Sharks fans who mercilessly criticized Dan Boyle earlier this season, well, we hope you feel guilty. Turns out the defenseman was playing with a broken foot.

“I’ve had a bunch of injuries. And I don’t want to make it sound like an excuse, but it has been a factor,” Boyle told Sharks radio host Jamie Baker yesterday after San Jose’s 3-2 win over the Oilers. “I had a broken foot there for a while, and it really hurt my skating. Just being healthy for me has been a big difference the last five or six games or so.”

Boyle has four points in his last four games after registering just 11 points in his first 26 games.

“My skating has always been my strong suit,” he added. “For the first 15 or 20 games or so I was a step behind, and it was creating a lot of problems out there.”

If it was Havlat or Vandermeer they would be out for 4-6 weeks. But Boyle at least didn’t get hurt falling over the boards and being injury prone like Havlat. I swear Doug Wilson is an idiot for acquiring 3 injury prone players Havlat, Vandermeer, and James Sheppard. Havalt and Vandermeer have already proven that point this year. Hell Havlat gets hurt just falling down.

I want the sharks to be healthy and peaking going into the playoffs for a change instead of flat and hurt during ther playoffs. This might be the year. Have some faith.

Ya well the Blues are way better than the Sharks.

That Blues comment was just plain stupid. Aside from that, the coaching needs to be addressed because the power play, penalty kill, defense, and 3-4 lines are all atrocious. Mix all that in with when Marleau and Thornton decide to show up every 15 games or so and we have disaster. It’s gloomy days ahead for the Sharks. The window of opportunity has closed. The product out there now is crap. Fire Wilson and Mclellan and bring in some coaching like Carlyle that yeah players to score the dirty goals and light a fire under the teams butt. Until then this team is winning anything except and early visit to the golf course……like every year.

Sharks fans just need to be patient with how the season pans out. There a tons of games left, and as for the whole “let’s fire Wilson and Mclellan, I think that talk is ridiculous! The Sharks have been to the Western conference finals in back to back years, just one step away from the Cup Finals. Why would you take a step back and get rid of your coach who has implemented a solid system with your players who clearly buy into it. example (How long did it takes Burns to sign a long term contract with the Sharks after he was traded from Minnesota? Answer: Before the season even started.) I remember Bruins fans saying the same crap about Claude Julien until they finally got over the hump and now everyone loves him. Relax, good things will come to this Sharks team, its just a matter of time. SJ all day!

At least Boyle has a smoking hot wife to comfort him.
