He took a direct hit from the slapshot of Timonen after being shoving from behind by Chara. Of course nothing is certain. That’s life. But we are talking about probabilities here. I’m sure we will hear from Homer in the next couple of days that Couturier has a concussion.

A puck rebounded off his head. Generally speaking, that hurts rather a lot. That he grabbed his head after a hard, fast-moving object hit it doesn’t necessitate a concussion. Is it possible? Oh yeah, it’s certainly (and very unfortunately) on the table. But people have taken pucks to the head and walked away with goose eggs, too. It’s not a given. I’d prefer to hope for the best. Schenn’s already lost to one. I’m really hoping not to see both rookies’ first seasons so marred.

I hope he recovers without any long term damage. The NHL playoffs are better with black and gold and orange and black.
