Giving up Rundblad wasn’t as much of a risk with both Karlsson and Cowan looking to be the future leaders of the D but to do that and a 2nd? What did Ottawa give up to get Rundblad in the first place: traded their 1st rounder to St Louis, which then turned into Vladimir Tarasenko, who is one of the better forward prospects around.

So Ottawa turned Tarasenko into Turris minus a 2nd rounder, I’m not sure that’s so great a deal.

Turris is a bust and will be out of the league in 3 years!!! Phoenix got a steal plain and simple.

I find it funny that Joe would not know that the reason tippet healthy scratched Turris in the last two gams was to not risk injury as they were trading him. The kid is a talented player and I am sure he will shine anywhere but Phoenix. Sens got a great trade. Phoenix mangagement team is a joke and Tippet is only as good as his management. Sorry but Sens won this one!

Turris was buried on the 3rd and 4th line and had crap minutes. Maybe deservedly so. Either way, the set up wasn’t right for him. Change could be just what he needs. Runblad wasn’t going to play much this year or next anyway according to Murray. And he was -11. Okay for a Leaf, but not a defenseman.

Turris’ 19-27-46 totals would be fairly mediocre for one season. Except, those aren’t last season’s numbers, they’re career. ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-SEVEN GAMES. He’s a less talented, even lazier Alexander Semin and even if Rundblad is supposedly expendable, Ottawa’s defense is anything but deep – Rundblad’s future development is by no means a writeoff, whereas Kyle Turris has already declared himself in no uncertain terms to be one of the laziest and most egocentric players in the League. This was a poor move.

Don’t think it’s a bad deal at all. Not sure why many people say Ottawa got ripped. Change of scenery for both guys should be good for both teams.

If this was just Turris for Rundblad it would be more even, but I think the second round pick puts it over the top for the Coyotes. Rundblad might not be a great player but Phoenix was just trying to unload this very underachieving player so getting any valuable assets back is a win.

Way too early to call it terrible. Runblad was brutal against the pens the other night. And the sens are stacked with young D. The risk/reward is there. Turris on a top line will be able to show what he’s really got.

Gamble #2 for the Sens this season. Runblad has looked pretty bad at times…don’t know much about Turris, but he obviously had major upside at some point. Should be interesting.
