For whatever reason, last year the team was winning the same battles it is losing this year, and not just in front of the net. They are slower, they look lost on the power play, and they have a knack for the big defensive turnover, and it seems they pay for every mistake. Then the additional pressure of knowing they will probably have to score at least (5) goals to have a chance to win creates a downward spiral of pressure on everyone. You gotta wonder if handing out the fat paycheck has made some players fat, happy and soft; but certainly this doesn't apply to Stamkos.

Last night, it seemed like they realized they aren't playing good hockey consistently because maybe they are too soft, so maybe starting a few fights will toughen them up. I didn't like how Kubina pummeled that guy into the ice for grazing Garon, but I think I see where he was coming from.

Roloson isn't doing it on purpose. He just stinks. That is the kind of goal bad goalies give up. Lightning need help and he isn't providing it.. I saw a lot of big rebounds. He doesn't know where the puck is going. I don;t think he sees it until it is right on him. He's 42 and playing like he's 52.

Exactly, Or swallow it . He made a mess of a routine save and gave up a easy goal. Players make mistakes and need their goalie to bail them out some times.. That first goal was horrible and it took 10 minutes for the Bolts to shake it off. This team needs some calmness in net not the horror show that Roloson is providing.

It really sticks in my craw when people react the way Pierre McGuire did in this clip. Yes, obviously Roloson made a mistake with that rebound, but I sincerely doubt that he thought "You know, I think I'll just throw this rebound right into the slot." That's absurd. He was the victim of a tough bounce off the blocker on a shot that he was obviously trying to direct to the corner. He screwed up. It happens. People need to calm down about it.

But there should be no way that a shot to the blocker like that gets plopped right into the crease. As a goalie, you have to direct the puck away from those scoring areas, especially when the incoming shot is soft enough to handle.

It's hard to blame just Roloson on that goal in the first video, if Pyatt was on his guy (or was even close to him for that matter) he could have played that puck out to the boards before Sykora even had a shot.

You are blaming Roloson all for that? My first question is what Tampa player had the responsibility of covering Sykora, cause whoever was supposed to be on him was nowhere to be found!
Perhaps some of Roloson's troubles may be more of what isn't happening on the ice in front of him!
Kind of like many of the nights Marty has been left out to dry this year by the Devils defensive (or lack thereof)!!!
In the words of Torts, it all starts with the play away from the puck!
