Again,the powers that be are trying to turn this into a chess match. It is quite simple you morons.If anyone here has ever played the game and played pickup outdoors you would know that the team with the puck has to advance the puck.They would certainly not stand and wait for the opponent to come to them,you have to move the puck.SIMPLE and its already in the rules.Right now ,with the Americanization of this game,the game is on the psych couch.Lets keep it simple.Here in the Great White North when you go fishing its out in the boat with your buds, and a carton of crawlers .Lately ive seen American fishing on tv ,with a boat following the 2 so called fishermen and is this boat is a frigging referee in stripes.Only in America.OLD TIME HOCKEY,EDDIE SHORE.YOU GOT THE PUCK…MOVE IT.

both coaches are doing what they feel helps them win the game.. I have zero issues with that… weather this is a 1-0 game or a 5-4, I love the game no matter how it’s played… Good hockey to watch happens in more than just one way (the scoreboard).

I like that. I’m sure the players also like that. Coach Lavi is sticking to his guns and players usually feed off of that. Emoser is right, it will make for interesting TV. And it’s on the NHLN. Haha Mr. Bettman is probably calling both coaches right now.

Let’s be honest, if anything the whole stalling issue adds some interest to this particular game. Like I said after the last time, nobody would want to see this happen all the time, but as it stands now it actually makes me even more inclined to see this game. I doubt there’s anyone out there who was planning on watching but now won’t because of what Laviolette said.

Yo, with the way my Bolts are playing, they’d be thrilled to pieces if the Flyers sat on the puck in their own end all game.

Ok,make traps illegal,then go ahead and make cycling the puck or dump and chase illegal.you cant ban stuff like that. Iam a fan of fun hockey i dont like teams just sitting around. That goes both ways. The team with the puck control the pace,same as any other sport. You would be pissed if your qb took center,looked up saw a zone defence and said no not gonna play anymore.

Sorry if this has been covered. Why doesn’t the NHL make trap defenses illegal? If a team is caught employing one, first time a warning, second time a bench minor, third time coach gets ejected and fined. Trap, Left Wing Lock, whatever, game officials should be schooled on what to look for and call it. Or have the replay official involved since he has the bird’s eye view. This BS of beat me if you can is a game killer. Of course there are ways to counter it, but ‘rope-a-dope, four corners’ has to go.
