Concussions are a real problem in today’s NHL. The players are so big, the rinks are still small and the equipment is also a concern in terms of the damage it can inflict.

actually they compare it to a test the same player took pre-concussion. its not something that has any definite answers, but it gives doctors a pretty good indication of whether or not the player has suffered any brain trauma.

Of course he passed a baseline test. That’s the one they use to compare to see if you have had a concussion. The results aren’t compared to anything so it is virtually impossible to fail.

Hate when things like this happen. Pronger, Laperriere, Primeau… Good guys, great in their own right, really hope this isn’t the end of the line.

While I dislike Pronger as a player, I hate that this happened. He’s a good guy toward the end of his career and stuff like this never bodes well for older players.
