I'd have been okay with it, but for one thing- it looks like he points his stick at the Lightning goal when he does it, as if he's shooting the goalie. That's not okay, to me- if he'd aimed almost anywhere else (and granted, it may be that I just misunderstood what I saw), I'd have been okay with it.

Hockey players are entertainers.... and it was entertaining. Theres nothing wrong with an animated celebration when someone scores. Hell, its a good thing to see players who actually get excited when they score. Nothing worse then seeing a guy look like a zombie after he scores since it makes it seem like he doesn't care.

However while I have no issue with an animated celebration... sometimes its a really bad idea, and I think thats the case here. After all, the Rangers were controling the play very well until this point in the game. Afterwards however the game started to look much closer and the extra fight Tampa showed in the 3rd ended up costing the Rangers. The worst thing you can do when your beating a team is give them an extra reason to rally against you, and it could be said thats exactlly what Anisimov did.

As for Tampa's immediate response to the celebration (going after Anisimov), it did seem a touch over board... but I can't really say I blame them either. The one thing that wasn't cool was Steve Downie leaving the bench. There is no time in which I play should be leaving the bench to join a fight on the ice, even when it happens after a goal. Its not like he was already on the ice for a line change... he clearly didn't leave the bench until the fight was under way. I would expect a suspension of that (I think its auto 10 games for leaving the bench).
