I don't know about this "depth" at center talk. Johansson will eventually be a good 2nd line center but right now he's not a great 2nd center to have. They won't be trading him away that's for sure but adding a 2nd center still is an issue for the Caps. Neuvirth, Shultz and obviously Semin are trade-able at this point. No one will take Hamrlik and there is an issue for Orlov if Mike Green comes back. That is simply because they have too many d-man on the current roster and will have to send him back down.

The depth at position? You can't say they are horrible and need to trade.... but then say they have depth. I don't see Johanssen going anywhere. He's probably the biggest scoring threat after Ovechkin.

But yes, Semin, Shultz, and Hamerlik.... I wouldn't even be shocked if they clean out that defense and really start over... trading away Carlson.

As for goalie, Holtby is the near future. And he should probably be the present.

Speaking of Trades, Alexander Semin, Michael Neuvirth, Jeff Shultz, Marcus Johansson, and Roman Hamerlik are all on notice. I expect Semin to be traded for sure. I think Johansson could be traded because of the depth at that position the Caps have with their excellent drafting.
