His loyalty to Anaheim is admirable, but he’s only got one Cup to show for it. The way he plays, his leadership abilities, and his absurdly low salary for the level of production he brings should see him on any of the real contenders, winning every other year. The guy deserves better, and half the teams in the NHL would sell big parts to give it to him.

Also, someone had to say it, so the guy who gets thrown under the bus for every goal did. You never want someone to creep on the inside, especially when you’re a center or defenseman. When you crowd the goalie, pucks go in. Most rebounds aren’t the juicy kind on your tape, they’re the rebounds that roll of the goalie by your feet in the crease. If there is another player there who isn’t on your team, someone made a mistake and the red light will probably be on very soon. I feel that defense is at an altime low for the league in a while. The play in your own zone can be the most crucial.
