You're better off without Corvo. I have seen enough of him with the Bruins to know that he is a very short-term placeholder. They brought him in with the idea that he could help out on the power play. But that trial seems to be over and he has settled in as the fifth defenseman. I wonder if they wouldn't even deal him away to get rid of his salary and just bring up Kampfer. The Capitals would be better off going with bigger defensemen.

LOL Really?
Joe Corvo is a power play specialist and that is it, he is a liability on Defense.

What Joe Corvo have you been watching?

No argument. A guy like Joe Corvo would be ideal for the Caps. Too bad they never had a chance to get a guy like tha- wait, didn't he play for them a few years ago and got dumped in the offseason?

The things you learn, I guess.

That said, I admit that beyond elite-level goalie, there might not be a tougher position to find quality in than stay-at-home defensemen. The market isn't exactly overflowing with Adam Foote clones right now, so I'm not sure if they really can do anything about this for now anyway.

The makeup of that team is just awful and I agree that management is to blame. Any team that gives major minutes on defense to guys like Dennis Wideman and Roman Hamrlik is going to have problems. Their goals against is up about a goal a game. The front office needs to focus on bringing in some big and solid defensemen.
