Not a huge Carcillo fan, but he’s right. The Blues in general are a great analogue to the NFL’s Detroit Lions.

Wonder if this from his college days? They played against each other in the WCHA, Backes from Minnesota State and Toews from North Dakota. Ballard was at Minnesota at the time too, so who knows, maybe he holds a grudge or two from being disregarded and seeing others get the limelight during his college playing time?

Carcillo? This guy is nearly useless and a crappy figher himself. Backes should turn around and ask him why he’s a lousy player.

not saying he’s a slouch. but a tough guy absolutely not. backes is the same size as lucic and bigger than thorton. So i do think its a cop out taking on ference. (more of a knock on backes not on ference)

I dunno, I’ve seen Ference scrap some pretty legit guys before. Moen, Barnaby, Burish (he crushed Burish), Hartnell, Bieksa….of course, he’s also scrapped with Pouliot, A. Kostitsyn and Crosby.

So, um, yeah.

andrew ference is a small guy. he’s gritty but tough? Give me a break. Big bruins fan and for his size he’s tough but going against a 225 lb guy. I hate carbomb more then I hate anyone else in the league, but he’s got a point on this one
