What is hockey coming to? A guy can’t drive to the net anymore without everyone screaming about a suspension? Give me a ****ing break.

Look, if this play had happened to any other goalie on any other night…. it would have been no big deal. It just so happens that it was Miller coming back from being hit by Luccic so now everyone (especialy the home announcers) are making a huge deal about it.

If you actually watch the damn video there are two points to be made, and they are the very reason that Tootoo will not be suspended.

1. Hes driving the net, and recieves a slight push from behind.

2. The ice level view clearly shows that Tootoo actually doesn’t make that much contact with Miller, and he DOES make an effort to avoid the hit. You can even hear the announcers tone change slightly after they watch the collision from that angle.

The collision looked far worse then it was, especially due to Millers reaction (which I have no problem with… in fact I like it). However theres nothing here other then a play that happened during a game thats over. There is no need, and likely will not be, any suspension or fine from this play.

I love all the hockey gurus think guys can’t stop on a dime in skates. I’ve seen it done, about 50 times a game, atleast by the Sabres, so maybe other coaches don’t know how to teach thier players that.

I agree. The replay showed there was a moment of hesitation that TooToo could have turned his edges (taking him to his right) to avoid contact, as the defender was behind him. He had the time to avoid. He did not.

Bring back the players like Probie and Domi (at least Probert had great hands and could score/something that was overlooked due to his pugilism). If you know someone is going to pound your face like an anvil if you doing something stupid, there won’t be the need for suspensions.

Am I saying someone needs to go McKracken on someone, no. But as the great Reggie Dunlop once said, “All I can get”. Or was it, “These guys are a disgrace”?

Miller can’t get away from idiots even if he remains in his goal crease! Lucic and Tootoo are one and the same.

Tootoo had every chance to change direction and avoid Miller. Erhoff barely even touched him so thats a non-issue. I don’t know many people who jump with there elbows out either. Tootoo is known for his dirty hits and being nothing but an idiot. I say at least a couple of games suspension unless Shanahan does the same thing he did with Lucic and go anti-Sabres like the rest of the league.

Every time I look at this, it seems obvious that Tootoo chose his course before Ehrhoff touched him. Tootoo was heading right into Miller from the outset, and though Ehrhoff’s stick got caught up in his legs in the play, it hardly explains how Tootoo grew wings and took flight into Miller’s face. It’s very hard to see how he didn’t intend to do that.

As someone who was actually there and very close to what happened I can tell you the Preds were not sluggish and the sellout crowd was very much in the game. It had nothing to do with what happened. If you think the Nashville fans are ever not in the game you have never been to a game in Nashville. You may not realize it Tootoo is very highly regarded by the fans. Anyone who doesn’t think he should be playing hasn’t followed his career recently. Miller should have been penalized. But heaven knows that’s not how it works in the league.

He nudged Tootoo. It’s more Tootoo’s decision to turn toward the goalie that was the problem.

A few things:

1) Whether he meant to do it or not, he deserved 5 minutes and probably the game misconduct.
2) I don’t think malice was involved–he made a dumb decision to turn towards Miller and (I think) tried to get out of the way with his jump. He failed badly.
3) If Tootoo deserved a game misconduct, Miller deserved a double minor for roughing after pummeling Tootoo while he was on the ice.

Baloney! Look close IF he was pushed he was pushed in the direction of behind the net. And then he thought he was going to jump over Miller? And with his elbows up around his chest?
What he did actually worked though. The Pred’s were playing sluggish and the fans weren’t in the game at all. After this both of those things were reversed.

Don’t worry though, just like with Lucic Shanahan said he asked him and Lucic said he really didn’t mean to hit him so no suspension. All Toto has to say is I didn’t mean it, honest!

I agree…. I can only help and laugh at the homer announcers call HAHAHA. I can’t stand Tootoo but I don’t think he intended for this to happen the way it had… He had the defender beaten, made a hard move for the net and then was slightly pushed from behind causing him not to be able to attack the front of the net, he had no where to go at this point. The reason why he jumped is so that he would “BULLDOZE” Miller’s face off, jumping was the best thing to do at that time… Bad luck for both Miller and Tootoo, no suspension.

You can see that Erhoff did actually push him into Miller, without that I think he would have been able to skate in front of him and avoid contact.

Why is Tootoo even employed? The clown has no hockey prowess whatsoever. Cant stand the guy. Im happy Miller went right after that cheap shot.
