Some have argued that he left his feet as a result of the hit, but I just do not see that. He clearly was launching himself into Nino before contact. It is simply a matter of timing as to whether he made contact before his skates left the ice. He may have led with his shoulder, but he clearly extended his elbow forcefully in making the hit.

Fistric certainly should get a suspension. He should have also been given a major penalty and that should be reviewed with the on ice officials. His prior history and his lack of judgement should warrant a harsher suspension than some might get with similar facts.
