Ugly indeed. A nondescript rectangular box with the cheapest looking exterior surface and a front yard that looks like an abandoned lot. Very nice inside though. I believe an office-hotel tower was originally planned in the lot, until the economy went bust.

Seems like the ‘outdoor rink experience’ would be a retail bonanza for them. It draws a crowd, and not only on game days. In fact, I heard that Patriot Place (next to Gillette Stadium) has outdoor skating now.

petris – In the real 1979 NYC, the Warriors never would have made it back to Coney Island. Especially, since they kept going back uptown everytime they got close to crossing over to Brooklyn. How many times does someone need to try to kill you before you figure out it’s best that you leave?

Jason, you need to get out of the basement more often. NYC is the safest large city in America and has been for some time. And Central Park is the safest police precinct in all of NYC. But, hey, don’t let silly facts like FBI crime statistics get in the way of the killer standup material you are working on.

If you ever get to Boston, by all means, go for a skate at the Frog Pond on the Common.

I can’t understand why the B’s don’t replicate that experience in front of the TD Garden. That ugly asphalt parking lot is a waste.
