If this had been the NYI, the HMSM would be all over Garth for firing his coach after an impressive win…and wondering what Boudreau could be thinking.

Agreed, I’d have to agree- the Leafs played very well last night, missing their starting goalie still and with other injury problems, facing a healthy Boston team that has been doing it’s best buzzsaw imitation all month long- the score looks bad, but they were in it until about five minutes left only a goal down. Considering the disaster the Leafs were a couple of years ago, this is a huge step forward. It might not BE a win, but it’s at least a big step in the winning direction. With Reimer back, who knows, they could win the next one.

Steve Simmons is hardly a homer; he is usually ripping anything Toronto related. I’ll have to read that article to see his points, but the dismissal here is strange.
