Yes, I saw the tree you sent us from the land of (some of) my ancestors and most of our glorious Bruins. I will wear my Bruins shirt and sing a carol under said tree tonight, just for you. It’s a beautiful tree, really. I’m just not sure what the point of the post is? Dictionary? I’m not sure … I just don’t get it. But thanks for the lovely tree. And thanks for the many glorious hockey players too.

Let’s hope Seguin doesn’t become an arrogant big bad Canadian player like E. Lindros.
Big, bad and skilled doesn’t make Lindros a Hall of Famer. He’s a fading memory as will many like him.

Sequin and Hall have great potential but being crazy isn’t worth getting gigantic money for nothing. Let’s hope no one follows that path.

Someone mentioned Doug Hamilton on the OHL Niagara Ice Dogs. He sounds like a typical Bruin.
However, why doesn’t a Canadian team work him ion their money slot. Trade someone(or 2) and attain young stars who are big, bad and skilled.
If I were dreaming again I’d never have Lucic, Cooke or the likes of Bertuzzi on my all-Canadian Fantasy team!

Though a fair point you have regarding Semin, I offer a retort – Semin’s never played like he loves being out there just playing the game. Semin’s walking talent with that insufferable prima-donna attitude that seems to often manifest amongst top Russian prospects, and much of his success can be attributed to being on a godlike scoring line back when the Caps’ strategy could be summarized as “ALWAYS SHOOTING, ALL THE TIME!” He’s imploded now that he has to actually work hard being defensively responsible and not being free to run and gun to his heart’s content.

Contrast Seguin: he’s had time on the penalty kill, he’s learning to backcheck well quickly (helps when you’ve got Bergeron as a case study, you know?) and most importantly, it’s clear when you watch him out there… he absolutely loves playing at this level. It’s not just raw, ridiculous talent, as with Semin – it’s the emotion, the pride, the desire to do it until he simply can’t anymore. He, unlike Semin, is willing to work hard under pressure and do the things he doesn’t like in order to enjoy the priviledge of playing in the most elite league in hockey. Semin’s a spoilt child. Seguin’s mature enough to appreciate what he’s got, and he wants to keep it until he’s too old to play anymore.

It’s time Canadian teams get smart and keep their hockey greats here at home.

He’s not a superstar yet, but he certainly has the potential to be one fairly soon. The most striking thing about Seguin (rhymes with Reagan) is how much he’s learned and absorbed in his one incredible year in the NHL. There’s every reason to believe that his progress in the NHL will continue at the same pace. It’s a lot to manage for a teenager, and while I’m sure he made the most of his championship summer (wink, wink), he seems to be handling it all quite well.

Yes indeed, Boston has Thomas, Chara and Seguin. That’s a triple crown. I wonder if a couple years from now we’ll be saying as much about Dougie Hamilton as we’re saying about Seguin. Whoa, I’m getting ahead of myself.

I think the Boston-faithful will truly see what Seguin is all about once he has to carry the team. Right now he doesn’t have to do that. That being said, he has done more than impressed me. Yours truly, a Flyers fan.

Watching this kid and the differences between this season and his rookie year are glaring. He’s improved at almost every aspect of the game, not just on the offensive end but defensively as well. The sky is truly the limit.

seguin has a long way to go before he peaks. He hasn’t even filled out yet. He’s in a great situation because he’s surrounded by veterans and because every local athlete is overshadowed by Tom Brady.
