Why? Did Boston lose Milan Lucic on their last road trip somewhere? And Patrice Bergeron? And, like, half their other forwards? Because I'm pretty sure power forwards are not a thing Boston's lacking. Besides, Krejci's a quality centreman. Ryan's not. Krejci's something Anaheim could surely use, but Boston wouldn't have much room for Ryan.

Why would the Ducks give up a 2nd rounder? Shouldn't the Sabres be the ones giving draft picks for Ryan? I think Ryan has more value than Miller. Miller's getting older and is often injured while Ryan is a young power forward and a proven 1st liner. I think the only way the Ducks trade Ryan is for a high price.

I don't get why the Ducks would do a straight up swap if they already are invested in Hiller. But for Buffalo, adding Bobby Ryan would make their offense lethal.

Crazystupidbaddumb idea. To make it work money wise and worthwhile for both teams. The Ducks send Hiller and Ryan and a 2nd round pick to the Sabres, in exchange for Miller and Jochen Hecht. Here's why it works, the money is comparable if you view each teams cap situation, their contracts basically cancel each other out for the rest of this season. Hechts contract is up at the end of the year and becomes a UFA, freeing up Anaheim 3.5 million in cap space, for them to help rebuild with. They need a lot in Anaheim anyway and Miller can steal games for them while they rebuild. Buffalo ends up with a big power forward type who can light the lamp, and is only 24 years old. They also get a playoff tested goalie. Anyway crazystudipbaddumb idea. Whadda ya think?
