The trade looks pretty lopsided in retrospect but that tends to happen to one side or the other when draft picks are involved. C’est la vie, it goes to show you never can tell. I’m happy having Kessel on the Leafs

How the Leafs play against the Bruins never tells us much. The Bruins routinely beat up on us but once in a while we put up 10 goals on them. I’d be happy with a split here but if they drop both I’m not going to assume they’re headed for a major slump (knock on wood)

Speaking as a B’s fan? I think the Leafs are good enough to earn the split- win at home, lose in Boston. That team is coming along, injuries aside. I’m grudgingly impressed with what Burke is doing over there- the Kessel trade was boneheaded, yes, but he did fleece Boston right back last year with the Kaberle trade, so call it even-ish. Overall, he’s got a heck of an interesting team in Toronto now, very interested to see how this week goes for them.
