Hedman is a damned fine D-man, with the potential to make the jump to Norris-status if he keeps going. Good to have him locked up for a while to come.

…but as others have said here, the Lightning need a goalie yesterday. That they haven’t made a move yet tells me one of two things- 1) anyone they’ve tried to get a goalie from have been content to let them twist in the wind, or 2) they’re insane and believe Roloson will even out soon. I expect that once the Islanders get healthy in net again (well, ‘healthy’- DiPietro, you know?), they’ll be willing to talk about Nabokov.

He’s finally playing physical and using his size to his advantage. Eventually I see him becoming more aggressive and physical and a top defenseman in the league. Being a 20-year-old NHL defenseman is hard, so I’m impressed to see him at this level one season after he was making some bonehead plays and skating around like a softie.
