Thing is, trading Ryan won't help them much. They've got too many major problem areas - they've got nothing going in their bottom six forwards, their top six is reliant on Selanne and Perry just to survive and their defense is awful. Back all that with Hiller being fairly good, but not at all spectacular himself, and it's a train wreck. Last year, their forwards were flying and Visnovsky had a career year on the attack. This year, everyone but the Finnish Flash is struggling mightily. Their WHOLE TEAM is coming up short. Trading Ryan won't help to fix more than one or at most two of their many shortcomings. They'll still be in much the same boat. A knee-jerk trade that loses such a fantastic player is a bad idea. I'd weather the storm. The other GMs know Anaheim's desperate position - they'd hold all the cards in any trade talks. Anaheim would only lose if they dumped Ryan right now.

To be honest, I was kinda wondering when someone would come out and suggest that the Ducks would be nuts to move this guy.

I'm a Pens fan, but I live in SoCal so I watch a lot of Ducks games. This dude is crazy talented. In fact, I might go so far as to say he's the most naturally gifted player on the team. Granted, that doesn't mean much if he's not producing, but I agree with Reitz on this one - the whole team is slumping right now.

If I were them, I'd ride this out. They have too much talent on their team to keep losing like they are now. I think they'll break out sooner or later. Maybe when Visnovsky gets back?

Bobby Ryan for Villie Leino and Tyler Ennis. Both Ryan and Leino would benefit in a change as they've both struggled this season. Ducks scouts were in Buffalo last night, trade is on the horizon.
