Couldn’t agree more- for all the chaos and humor I’m enjoying in all of this, and despite feeling that this truly was the best move for all involved (Boudreau included), it’s sad to see the guy go, and I join you in wishing him nothing but the best wherever he ends up.

If you all get a second, hit the Washington Post and find the Sports Bog column, they have a Boudreau’s Ten Best Moments In D.C. bit that is worth the five minutes to read.

I think it’s safe to say that with the ‘up is down’ mentality the Isles seem to take perverse pleasure in, hiring a proven coach like Boudreau is a step in the ‘wrong direction’ for them. Picking the person in Section 32, Row H, Seat 14 to be coach for the night sounds more like an Islanders decision.

What? No mention of the Islanders? In fairness, the Isles seem to have stopped the bleeding a bit, so, unless there is another free fall, Garth will likely wait until the offseason to reassess Cappy’s tenure.

Having to use Wideman and Hamrlik in your regular defense rotation would be enough to get any coach fired. Claude Julien had hair before he coached Wideman. Hamrlik is just getting up there in years.

Oh I’d love to see Boudreau’s arrival in Colorado for a job. No one can hear what Bruce says in his introductory press conference over the sounds of Semyon Varlamov hysterically sobbing in a corner.
