The TV part of it’s gotten much better than it used to be, so it’s more watchable. I still don’t get the culture of the governance: one guy got flagged for “interference” when it seemed he hadn’t done anything. As in football, you can rearrange the vertebrae of someone’s spine or cause a concussion and be praised for good play but if you stand in the way, hold, or pull on a shirt, you must be punished. And these guys get thrown out of the game for 2 minutes! Imagine if that were so in the NFL: “holding, the Giants will play with 10 men for the next 2 minutes.” Bizarre.

In this respect, sports reflects our culture at large: none of the bankers who destroyed our financial system and caused incalculable suffering for millions have been arrested; but some 4,800 protesters who set up tents in parks have been.
