I hate to generalize any team by the actions of a few players (same with fanbases). The Canucks certainly have their share of jackasses on the team, for sure- Lapierre, Burrows, really Luongo didn’t do himself any favors opening his mouth the past year or so. That doesn’t mean the rest of the team is like that though- I’m not in Vancouver, but I rarely hear anything out of the Sedins, for example.

Besides, I’m sure I can find players on every team out there- even my Bruins- that would easily qualify the same way.

Lapierre’s best season? 28 Points! That’s a winner! If I was a Canucks fan I’d be ashamed to count you among my number.

ya i’m sure the Canucks can’t sleep at night because of the “image” the media is painting. LOL

1 win away from the cup.. but ya your right.. all those players you mentioned are terrible, and i bet no team would be lining up to sign them if they were all to become free agents.

the Canucks “kool-aid” isn’t as strong as the haterade the media is serving up! keep sipping people

Ryan Clowe < Lappierre

Lappy's goal was pretty sick last night.. what's Clowe done lately? ya he's just an angel isn't he? real tough guy that runs goalies consistently. he's just a big mouth goofy Newfie. when the playoffs roll around.. i'll take all the french Canadians i can find for my team next to a Newfie… they're pretty good at the hockey ya know… just ask the Habs (24 stanley cups)

enuf of this "let's hate on the Canucks" side show… it's getting old. Hockey is an emotional physical sports that can sometimes reduce it's players on any given team to schoolyard antics.. the media however, should be a little more professional.. but they keep proving time and time again that it's just a popularity contest.. and everyones trending @hatecanucks … old news.

the horse is dead.. quite beating it. maybe you can write more Crosby stories or talk about how fat Kyle Wellwood is..

Let’s see, next week Predators weigh in on Canucks arrogance, then two weeks from now we’ll let the Hawks weigh in, and then what, it’s the Northwest division rivals, then the rest of the west, then the eastern conf? Now retired player on last years team who won it calls out team they beat in seven games… SIX MONTHS AGO!!!!

You’d think this is the basketball talk. Is it REALLY that slow today? Are we going to talk about Prongers exit from edmonton, bertuzzis hit on moore, or hash the 04-05 lockout as well?!?!

There are a LOT more things happening now. The season HAS started!

Some of you continue to state that the “fan base” is do bad and that rioting is something the “fan base” is accustomed to but what you don’t understand is that it’s not the “fan base” but it is a handful of morons that do the dumb stuff and you people are no better for piling on with the comments. Every team and every fan base has players/fans that people don’t like.

Your assumptions are just that assumptions and the players actions in the last years playoffs run was embarassing to the team. Kool aid is free flowing from the canucks front office…..
I am somewhat surprised there hasn’t been a riot in vancouver as a result of this article being posted. Seems logical and consistant with the fan base

Lapierre is a stain, that’s no secret. Unfortunately for the Canucks, he isn’t the only one that hurts the teams’ image. Burrows, Bieksa and Kesler also lack integrity, and ultimately, hurt the Canucks as much as they help them.

Canuck fan so I’m biased, but the Canuck players that seem to get pointed out often (Burrows,Lapierre, and Kesler) have all said over the last couple seasons that they are no longer like that and now focus on playing whistle to whistle. For Burrows I think it was even a discussion management had to have with him before he was resigned a couple years back. That being said we do seem to look to the refs often after scrums which I’m sure other teams don’t like and I’m sure Bieksa is not liked the same way he is here.
