maybe it’ll do something for ehrhoff and maybe not. when you’re up 2-0 and 3-2 and leading the entire game and then somehow wind up losing in a shootout to a team you hate and want to beat badly… i wouldn’t call that earning a point. i call it losing one.

You are reaching saying the Sabres “earned a point”. Maybe there is some kind of moral victory after getting spanked 6-2 in Boston. They blew a two goal lead with 24 minutes left in the game after coming out on an emotional high. If collectively, they can feel better about themselves after that and that somehow negatively impacts the Bruins, nobody is going to blame Adam McQuaid, who is a young tough fifth defenseman. It is hard to say if trying to playing a physical game with the Bruins wore the Sabres down or if they had nothing left because they just came out so emotional in the first period.

“brian91388″, what do you mean “meaningless 1st period goal”????? It helped the Sabres get to a 2-0 lead. Yes, they lost in a shootout, but they earned a point out of it. And that goal by Ehrhoff may be just what he needs to get going. Meaningless, think again.

Eh the game was a bit more exciting then I had predicted. Still though, given how nasty the collision with Miller was…. it would have been far wilder in years past (or if the Sabers were a tougher team).

Rather than poke the Bear, maybe the Wings should try to feed us some turkey scraps. Get us all content and sleepy. Nothing else seems to be working against the B’s.

Yes they did poke the bear all night long and lost. So the Mcquaid penalty really didn’t matter at the end except that he got to throw a few punches.

All in a game that led to a yet another loss to the Bruins, while they run their winning streak to 10 games…along the way they literally beat the Sabres up. Yeah, only Buffalo fans can spin losing a fight and scoring a meaningless first period goal, in an eventual loss, into a positive.

Gaustads hit on Marchand was perfectly fine. McQuaid is an idiot for coming in and cross checking Gaustad from behind, which led to a penalty, which led to an Ehrhoff goal. So in my opinion, Mr Jack Edwards, “poke the friggin bear all night long”.

The Sabres don’t have to fight to win and they certainly won’t beat the Bruins by engaging in that strategy.

The Sabres were worn down by a more physical Bruins team. But at least they can respect themselves after this loss. To use Ryan Miller’s term, they weren’t “gutless” tonight. But despite gaining respect for themselves, that is not a way to beat the Bruins.
