He simply delivered a hit… there is no way he could know that door wasn’t latched. Second, the video provided does not show Burrows opening the door, and it certainlly does not show any intent to open it to effect the hit on Winchester.

I don’t care for Lapierre or Burrows, but theres nothing here… at least not from the video provided.
