You’re right, overall, they’re pretty solid. The only thing I don’t like about them is the “Vancouver” across the top. It just looks unnecessary.

I like Vancouver’s current jerseys. Not because of my hometown bias, but because nothing, I repeat, NOTHING, will ever be as bad as either a) the Flying V yellow monstrosity of the ’80′s, or b) the salmon pink disaster of the mid 90′s.

Agree with comeonnowguys. I was hoping that awful Dallas decision was an exception not a trend. The new Islanders jersey is innovatively boring!

I’m with PD on being a uniform junkie, but I’m not a fan of teams putting names, cities and/or numbers in text on the the front (Dallas, Vancouver, etc)

Hockey has the best sweaters in sports, these third jerseys look like they want to be baseball or basketball jerseys.

Looks good to me… It has an “old time hockey” look. They are going for a simple, clean look and I think they did it right, without being boring.

I’m a uniform junkie, so love this stuff. Only thing worse than the jerseys was the Isles TV host.

Yeardon hit it on the head…poor guys were definitely reaching for praise. None more desperate than Okposo: “its innovative…the number and name on the back is pretty cool…as well as the front too where it says islanders…i like that”

Name an number on the back and team name on the front…innovative.
