If Buffalo doesn’t respond for this in their next game (Nov. 23), then they have no balls. It should have been 5 guys all going after Lucic for that play, but that didn’t happen. I’m disappointed in Buffalo’s lack of a response.

The Bruins have been on the short end of many of these league decisions and lost their best players for full seasons and longer with little to no suspensions (Jones on Bergeron and Cooke on Savard). So all of this BS about the Bruins being “protected” is pure BS. Vancouver played a very dirty series against the Bruins because they couldn’t match the Bruins physically. Burrows bites Bergeron and gets NOTHING. Rome did get what he deserved. But that was a chicken shlit hit on Horton. The Bruins play the game tough. Watching the two biggest weenie teams in the league right now. The Buffalo Wussies are playing the Montreal Floppers or the Montreal Dive Team, as they are referred to in Boston.

No it does not because Lucic won’t back down from any confrontation. If someone from your team decides to cheap-shot him instead of challenging him then shame on them, I’ll be pushing for them to be thrown out of the league. The onus is on Miller as much as it is on Lucic for this one. If Miller was behind the net or in the crease it’s a different story, but he was charging out towards Lucic and it’s his own fault he’s going to be missing some games

Lets go over the rules. Even if a goalie is out of the crease, the player must try and avoid contact. It’s evident Boston just has a different rule book than the rest of the league, because I don’t see how Lucic throwing his arms into Miller was “avoiding” contact. While the Sabres were gutless in a response to Lucic, this just sets the stage for another Bertuzzi incident.

If Miller had been in the crease and Lucic ran him like that he would have been suspended, but that was nowhere close to the case. Miller chose to come way out and basically go right at Lucic in an attempt to play the puck. If 2 players are going full speed at each other you can’t hold one singularly responsible for the contact that happens. Good job by Shanny here

Canucks have a guy with a broken back – no suspension. Meanwhile, Aaron Rome gets a four-game suspension in the Finals for a late hit. It’s a joke what Boston gets away with. Go back and watch Game 7 vs Montreal if you have any doubt about that.

It sounds like you’ve never had a concussion, but you definitely have the “know-with-all” to swing your stick at someone. You also have just enough coordination to not even come close and fall on your ass during the attempt.

Good. Now did Shanny give Buffalo a box of tampons to help them get over it? Buffalo had 40 minutes to run over Bostons goalie and didnt. Either way after seeing him not get a suspension. Buffalo should crash Thomas’s crease hard one of these nights. If they dont, than I stick by my tampon comment. The fact not one player didnt drop the gloves and atleaset bear hug Lucic and hold on for dead life. As a person who playted defense my whole life, I would rather get beat up by a tough guy than watch that tough guy run my goalie over and not react. Have a spine. Even if it can barely support you.

I’m so glad Shanahan has taken over that post.. I love his approach and honest assessment.. He hasn’t been afraid to suspend anyone who deserved it..

Lucic plays on the edge of dirty at times but a suspension was not warranted in this case. Bang-Bang play… 2 min penalty was enough.. There was no intent to injure. The best he could have done was maybe side step Miller. But Lucic is a big guy who isn’t the most agile guy to be slipping past hits.

I’m sure Lucic’s style of play will earn him a deserved suspension before the season’s done. But not in this play.
