I think they screwed up the win after not responding to the hit. They didnt respond and all the momentum went towards Boston. The game was over after that hit.

The Bruins learned a great deal from the way they handled the Cooke hit on Savard. Maybe the Sabres will learn from this one. I just don’t think Lucic has any reason to fear any of them. He is also on fire on offense. Stay out of the box.

Pathetic. If I were Ryan Miller I’d be furious with every guy in the locker room and I’d call them out on it behind closed doors. You don’t let your boy get bullied like that…not on the playground, not in the streets and not on the frozen battlefield. I’m ashamed to be a fan today.

Lucic should STFU. And I’m a Bruins fan.

When Cooke took out Savard, not one Bruin stepped up in that game. Thornton threw down with him the next time they met, but it was a half-ass attempt at retribution. I like Lucic, but I wish he would just shut his mouth & play the game.

I don’t know. I think the Sabres were focused on trying to win a hockey game. At the time of the hit, Buffalo had 1-0 lead and was looking at a power play for a possible 2-0 lead on foreign ice. Why screw that up?

And honestly, like I’ve said, it wasn’t intentional and I don’t think it was that late of a hit. But when you get in the way of a guy who’s skating at full speed and you weigh 50 pounds less, you are going to get the worst of it. Maybe their bench saw the replay and came to same conclusion.

The Sabres are a good team. They’ll be there in April and beyond. But it sure makes for great theater.

Hm. Troubling. In the first of the quartet of posts on this, I defended Lucic. I STILL feel it looked like a clean hit (in terms of where it connected and the fact that it didn’t meet the definition of charging). Yet, for all that, he comes off the ice and simultaneously practically admits guilt and badmouths the losing team with the injured player. Not only is it confusing and only worsening his own situation, but it’s a pretty classless thing to come off the ice and say that – and for the record, I AGREE with him. The Sabres should have sought reprisal, whether they were physically outmatched or not. Even a legitimate hit on a goalie is grounds for hard hits and fighting. I feel that for these remarks to come from Lucic himself is extremely poor taste – but he’s right. They should have stepped up. That said… man, if ANY other Bruin had said this I’d be less bothered by it. He took out their goalie, cleanly or otherwise. He shouldn’t be talking to the media like that.

I would be embarrassed to be a Sabre player right now. Our goalie gets RUN and they do nothing. Where’s the heart? I played hockey and if that happens to my goalie I take out him!!! The Sabres showed one thing they are a long way from winning a cup this year.
