Only reason someone wants the wings to shut up about the past is because their team’s past doesn’t stack up.

Look, until the Wings miss the playoffs, they still have the longest standing streak in major sports. If a Wings fan says something unfounded (Like Chris Osgood is the best goalie in the past 25 years/Steve Yzerman was the the best player the league ever saw/Darren McCarty could still play hockey in the NHL) then I’m OK with you letting loose, but Hawks Fan, don’t hate on the Wings fans. They are spoiled, but the bragging rights are theirs.

you wings fans jsut need to shut up honestly theirs a reason why its the past, you wings fans are worse than yankee fans, god no one care that the wings have done what they have done. their acheivements yes they are phenominal but we in the hockey community dont need to be constantly reminded of it, and come talk to us when you win as much as the habs. so please do use fans of other teams a favor and jsut shut up about the teams past and look at their achievement this year, ohh wait they wont have any cuz its going to the hawks this year

I don’t put much stock into how good or bad teams are doing until at least past Thanksgiving, but when has a teams record of the past 20 years meant anything during their current season? Detroit’s been a great team, but what they did in past seasons is just that, past seasons.

Keep in mind that the wild 5 game win streak is something I would get excited about. When one talks of the Detroit Red Wings they have had more win streaks in the last 20 years and not only made the playoffs the last 20 years, have wound up in first many times and led the NHL in season points several times, and of course been in a few Stanley cups finals. Until the wild can that my respect goes to the wings

Apparently you forgot about the Wild who have won 5 of their last 6, including beating Detroit “the hottest team in the west” twice in that span.
