I seem to recall the 2005 playoffs…..does game 7 ring a bell? Iginla has had a legitimate chance to win the Stanley Cup but they crapped the bed!

The Stars seem like they’re headed right for the playoffs right now, and they’re at the cap floor. Who knows, they look like they could use a solid right wing or two.

Both him and Alfredsson will be shipped to a contender when they know they’re playing their final few seasons, but until then they’re going to stay put. I don’t think Iginla is at that point yet. Alfredsson is definitely close

If both truly love their teams then they would ask to be traded knowing what they get in return could help win a cup more than what they have left in the tank.

I think you trade Alfredsson and Iginla out of respect. So they can get cups their both really good players and deserve it. They both have done so much for their teams its time the team gives back to them. They’re both really really good players and have leadership qualities which is y their both captains. That means that both Calagry and Ottawa could get a lot in return. The only problem they have is they both have big contracts. Most playoff bound teams are near the cap limit. But hopefully it works out for these guys they both deserve cups.
