Don't underestimate Jay Feaster's naivete. The guy's gunning hard for young skill players who maybe have ego problems he thinks he can solve. See: Kyle fucking Turris. If he's interested in Turris, he'd at least listen if the Caps come knocking. Besides, Iggy might want to go to a contender. There are actually a few factors working in favour of that trade. Still not likely (or a good idea), but not impossible.

I'll never know what the Capitals are thinking when they keep re-signing Semin. Sure, he CAN be a great player and has a load of talent... but hes far more trouble then hes worth. He takes bad penelties, he under performs in the regular season, he is all but useless in the playoffs, has a reputation of not giving a damn, and yet they give him $7 million for the year? Thats just insane. Now the Caps are paying the price. They should have simply let him walk in the summer.

For all the good moves GM GM has made over the years, continuously signing this guy to cap filling one year deals is not on the highlight reel. Semin is a problem on and off the ice and the only way to cure the team of his ills is to ship him to a team struggling to stay above the cap floor. Granted, that team will need to be sure they can lock Semin up for at least three or four years, but for Washington scratching him is only a short term fix. Like Bradley said in the off season, Semin just doesn't care and doesn't have the work ethic. That is part of the problem in the offensive zone when he fails to move his feet. He takes as many stick penalties as anyone in hockey and he continues to put the team in bad situations. And it's more than fair to say the Caps don't have one of the better penalty kills in the league.
