I see what Iggy is calling the ‘headbutt.’ Around 0:40, Johnson thrusts forward with his head down. Now I don’t think Johnson was looking to ram him with his dome. More like push off without exposing his face (if ya ever been a hockey fight then you know what I’m talking about). I am surprised that people are coming at Iggy as if he broke a federal law. Stars complain all the time. That’s one of the perks. And Iggy took off Johnson’s helmet during the fight. It wasn’t like Johnson put down his helmet out of respect.

Admittedly, I’m a Wild fan, but my opinion of Iginla was swayed a bit after this bit. I used to respect the guy. Fighting a guy with no helmet while he still has his on (even though it looks like he ripped Johnson’s off) is a little weak, but not a big deal. But to stop and turn to the refs during a fight and cry “headbutt!” is downright disgraceful. It’s like his only goal from getting into a fight was to look for ways to give his team a penalty advantage.

after watching the replay 10 times. NO WAY WAS THIS A HEADBUTT. horrid call by the ref to give into Iggy’s cry. PUH LEASE! nothing against iggy or the flames but come on man’

First off Iggy, don’t start the fight then cry half way during it if something doesn’t go your way. I can’t tell if there was a headbutt or not, it doesn’t look clear so I’ll say no but with a maybe??? leaning towards a def no, nothing looks intentional… and that Johnson was really barking at Iggy in the penalty box makes me think it was an accident, cuz otherwise you wouldn’t stand up for yourself in that situation… next time Iggy, take your helmet off and square up not after a goalie stoppage, just saying. No matter what I think the ref’s did a poor job. 7-2 on penalties, seems kind of one sided and not too mention one obviously was a major… I also like the ref telling Koivu to (cough cough OFF) when speaking to the zebra after the “headbutt” LOL. nice, just nice!! all that said I don’t want to come off as a homer because I couldn’t hear the penalty calls as they happened since I was at the bar but the last call against Colton didn’t look like boarding at all…. let the players play and or call it both ways. maybe the Wild really did commit all those minors but it seems a tad unlikely… bad bounces for Calgary and lucky for the wild on the first goal.
