Caps lacked the stomach for a fight, especially after going up 2-0. Didn’t help that Vokoun was soft and their were hardly any pp ops.
Forget it and move on.

So we’re giving mulligans for playing back to back are we? If the Caps are supposed to be legit Cup contenders, that shouldn’t matter.

The real story is that the NYI are 12th in GA, 11th on the PP, & 14th on the PK. The only reason they hadn’t been winning is that player who normally score had not been doing so. They’d played much better against the Pens and the Sharks & might have beaten the Sharks but for a horrendous call in OT. Tonight they found a way to win.

No doubt that the back-to-back hurt the Caps, although that doesn’t get Vokoun off the hook …
