Nothing going to come of this. No Shanaban, unfortunately. The refs know what they are doing when they get in the scrum, and im surprised this doesnt happen more often.
Russo is biggest homer in the league. Guy is a joke. If he wasnt forced to not react, he would probably jump up and do cartwheels when the Wild score a goal.

The linesman get hit during fights all the time. Perhaps not as clear and clean as this, but it happens. No real story here.

I’d hope that if Shanahan has any memories of how chaotic a good hockey fight is (if not, he should call Adam Foote for some memory refreshers- they had some good ones against each other!), he’ll drop the issue after an apology from Clutterbuck. I don’t see anything there that looks like actual intent to do anything but land a punch on the wrong guy.

I agree. It was purely accidental and in no way intended for his hands to hit the ref… If someone was grabbing me and trying to push me over the boards, I will bet you anything that I would throw my fists in the air as well. Just bad luck for the ref. I am positive Clutter had no clue he was hitting the ref. If he was thinking straight, he would have realized Lapierre’s head was on CLutters chest but in the heat of the moment I can’t imagine he understood that at the time….. Still not sure what Lapierre was thinking in trying to throw Clutter over the boards. I couldn’t stop laughing at how dumb it made him look……… Feel bad for the ref tho, ice that nose down!
