Peter Karmanos still owns the controlling interest in the team (and then some), so I don’t expect the status quo to change any time soon, and Jim Rutherford will likely be able to hold his spot as GM for as long as he wants it. He consistently puts together competitive teams on shoestring budgets in one of the league’s smallest markets, which has helped to keep the team financially viable and prevented any serious talk of moving the team.
