An Olympic gold medal isn’t won in the NHL. Torts clearly says “this league”.

And Torts is correct..Joe Thornton is actually known as one of the softest big men in the league which is why I thought his comments were so amazingly ironic and injustified.

Thornton has won an MVP. I don’t know why this is becoming such a story. Thornton is allowed to express his opinion about opponents- and rather then everyone taking it as an insult to the Rangers why can’t it be a captain sending a message to his own team. If the Rangers weren’t soft it seems like they could laugh it off and move on- but for this level of response maybe he really hit the nail on the head! But well played by Tortorella, maybe his rant will bring Gaborik’s ‘gritty’ game to a whole new level.

I gotta agree with Torts on this one, classless is right. Hey Joe-the team you’re calling soft just smacked you down 5-2. Whether they’re soft or not, making this comment right after they kicked you to the curb is NOT the time do it.
