You wouldn't want to play these guys as an eighth seed in the playoffs. I don't expect the Canucks to finish first, but I totally could see them blowing their season by underestimating the Oilers. I vary that doomsday scenario with the one of playing the Blackhawks for the fourth year in a row with the Kawks hot for revenge. It's great being a Canucks fan.

Idk if they are legitimate but they sure are fun to watch. If you like hockey, watch the Oilers. Thank God for Center Ice. I get to watch the young guns out here on the East Coast. I can see why the city of Edmonton is excited about their boys.

At this point, I'm not taking anything for granted. Last year's finalists are both playing like absolute shit and the Leafs, Sens (after rebounding from initial difficulties), Panthers, Avs and Oilers are smacking everyone around so hard a newcomer to the sport would ask which one of them won the Cup last year. Seriously, for the first twelve games it's been an almost polar reversal of which teams are hot and which ones can't get it going. Odds are it'll even out in the next seventy, but still - I'm content not to make bets as long as hockey's hyperextended Opposite Day is still going on.

THE Oilers looked real good aginst us (Blues) tonight. We had a bad second period but its not like the Blues played that bad. Also the Oilers were missing three of their reguler reguler. Hhabibulin also loosed real good and Ryan Nugent Hopkins is the real deal and made a really really nice pass for the first Edmonton goal. I wouldn't doubt the Oilers they are loaded with tons of talent.
