I've always believed the real problem is abysmal leadership. Who the fuck do they have to get them back in line and keep them from losing control when shit goes wrong? Chara went into the Bruins dressing room after the first period of what looked like a third-straight combustion in the making against the Canucks and they came out a completely different team because of what he said. When Luongo implodes, it's not just Luongo's confidence that's the problem - it's the fact that there's no respected leader there to give him confidence to get back up and keep going. When Burrows and Bieksa rack up five or six penalties in a row, there's no-one there to smack them upside the head and tell them to get the fuck in line and start playing hockey again. Who do they have to turn to? The Sedins, who are so terrified of the notion of offending or hurting someone that they'll just stand there and literally be Brad Marchand's punching bag until a referee comes and saves them. What the FUCK kind of inspiration could a player like that provide? That team with a player like Jarome Iginla, Martin St.-Louis or Jonathan Toews leading the charge would run over whoever they were up against, but as they are now? Once their penalty-machine players start losing their shit or their goalie shits the bed, it's all over - neither the "captain" nor the coach, nor anyone else can get the team back on track before the trainwreck concludes.

Let's not pretend that one moron holding a sign makes a controversy. Go down that route and all the idiots who use an expensive seat to promote their particular rant would be consider valid. They're not.

Vancouver has a controversy only in the sense that our fans are coddled and prone to yuppie boredom. The way the Canucks got destroyed even with Schneider in net should prove that the problems with this team are far deeper than purely goaltending.
