Better believe not all players would wear a helmet if they didn't have to. Thats just the way hockey players are.

As for not wearing a visor, there are a few reasons guys don't wear them. Mostly its because it can at times be a pain to see through (especially with the light glare). In my time playing hockey I have both worn a visor, and not worn a visor... and I gotta tell you, I liked not wearing one so much better.

At the end of the day, there is absolutely no need for full face masks... and the amount of injuries that would be prevented from everyone wearing a visor are minimal (especially since you can still take a stick to the eyes even with a visor on). Players already have far too few choices when it involves their own safety, lets not take even more things out of their control.

I will never understand why all players don't wear visors. Hell, I'd be in favor of a full face-shield a la NCAA hockey. (Of course I always wore a mask in my playing days... still got my eyes!)

If this were Matt Cooke, Todd Bertuzzi, Claude Lemieux, or even Darius Kaspiraitis, the karma comment would still be in poor taste. That was the first time I heard a hockey player audibly scream on the ice from an injury on television.

If you hate Chris Pronger, he's never been on your team. Hopefully he's ok. Reports of an eye injury with bleeding, out two weeks. He never left the building, which is a good sign.

I'm not sure that Karma applies here. Pronger plays tough and nasty, but he's never been known as a high stick artist. If you don't like the way Chris Pronger plays, then you're not a phan of hockey.
