I think it’s about new starts – from a financial perspective, Booth’s expensive, kinda hit-and-miss on the Panthers’ squad and maybe struggling for an excelling role within their system and he’s an NTC player by next year. I’m baffled by Tallon’s acquisitions, though. I guess that’s all he could eke out of Vancouver. I’m surprised he couldn’t find a better offer elsewhere, though. Booth’s solid and a lot of people know that. He’d go for higher than he did if Tallon had tried trading him elsewhere. Sturm and Samuelsson… man, the only possible gain there is veteran experience, and that’s not worth much when your veterans are old, slow and short on production.

Panthers got raped here. Samuelsson is an aging third liner and Sturm is done. What is Tallon smoking?

Wow. Vancouver robs Florida blind once again. Here, have a couple of fourth-liners for a quality power forward who could be a 30-goal scorer with a GOOD team around him. Sturm was proving useless as Torres’ replacement and they run Samuelsson wherever they can fit him now that Burrows has his job with the Sedins. This is a good move for Vancouver and a bad one for Florida. Two guys that could barely produce on one of the top five teams in the NHL aren’t going to get any better on one of last year’s lottery squads.
