I watched too. They weren’t exactly great goals. As you say, Schineider probably could’ve stopped them, and it was dramatically juxtaposed with Lundqvist having one of his “King Henrik Invincibility Mode” nights at the other end. Basically, it was bad on its own, but stacked against Lundqvist, it only looked much, much worse. Then you add his apocalyptic postseason performances – I mean, MULTIPLE SEVEN-GOAL GAMES IN THE PLAYOFFS? He blew two games against Chicago, three against Boston… and how did this one end? A 4-0 shutout. I imagine you remember the last time that happened in Vancouver. Pretty big game and all that. All that shit combined is associated with Luongo by the fans, and it’s not particularly unfair. I mean, give credit to his teammates for saying “We all lost this game,” but they got forty shots on New York. It’s not like the forwards were playing a shitty game too here. It was pretty much anyone’s game until Luongo fell over and died in the third.

I was at the game, and IMO the boos were warranted. The Rangers scored 4 goals on 10 shots in the third period. That’s a .600 save percentage, no? And it’s not that they scored on four 2-on-1′s….Other than Gaborik’s goal (which was more or less in garbage time anyway) Lu should have stopped them all. The boos resulted from the (likely accurate) assumption of all those in attendance that Schneider probably would have stopped them, and that Lu’s counterpart at the other end Lundquist definitely would have.

coming from the place where ****tards destroyed their own city after losing game 7 last year, the game to game hate/love for Luongo is all too easy to shrug off.

bottom line- vancouver sucks

Luongo did not play poorly?? Canucks outshot the Rangers 40-19, and lost 4-0. Sounds like both goalies were the main determining factors in the game.

I think boos are the least of ol’ Lou’s worries. Canucks owners didn’t get rich overpaying for anything. He hasn’t been worth the 6 M per they have been paying him for a while now. They can’t trade him. … how are they going to remedy this?

At least in Toronto we wait until a guy is legit awful every game (good ole Bryan McCabe, he’s the worst Leaf you can play) before we completely turn on him
