So early in the season to be in cap trouble. Blackhawks had same problem the year they won the Cup. They would send a players down to minors every week to keep under the cap.

Treating players like cattle is terrible. But I guess that goes with the turf. I still don’t like musical chairs.

Asst GM Barry Hanrahan confirmed to the Phialdelphia Daily News’ Frank Seravalli that Laperriere was placed on the LTIR list, so the cap situation is fixed. As for the contract slot to keep Couturier past game 10….worst comes to worst they could deal a guy on a AHL/NHL deal for futures or a late pick.
