When did he stop being an Elite player? Just because your hurt for a few months doesn’t mean you are suddenly an also ran or has-been.

True. But right now he is playing against guys who don’t belong in the NHL. Well at least most of them. I don’t think he ever lost his ‘elite’-ness but one can argue that. We shall see. I don’t know if it’s a lock to say he will dominate like he did last time Crosby was out for an extended period of time. As a Flyers, I hope he doesn’t.

It seems like Malkin plays his best when Sid is out. The season he should have won the Hart trophy Crosby missed an extended period of time and he played out of his mind.
