Casey Cizikas has had an impressive start to his pre-season and he is a more prototypical third line center than Josh is anyway. David Ullstrom is also a consideration.

I have my doubts that Josh would just sit out the year. The Sabres are over the cap and need a center. The NYI need a #2 D & just lost a potential candidate for that role, Mark Katic, to a separated shoulder. A package involving Josh and maybe Ty Wishart for Jordan Leopold and a Buff forward would probably help both teams.
